Conforme la massive vaccination ha avanzado en Cuba, superando el 87 % de vacunados desde los 2 años de edad,  (dato de 6 enero de 2022), las cifras Covid fueron remitiendo hasta tasas de incidencia por debajo de los 8 casos por cada 100.000 habitantes.

El 89,9 % de la población (de 11,2 millones de habitantes) —más de 9,9 millones de personas— completó el esquema de inmunización anticovid, con las vacunas nacionales Abdala, Soberana 02 y Soberana Plus.

En Cuba se eliminó el uso obligatorio de la mascarilla desde el martes 31 de mayo, al considerar que se ha logrado el control de la enfermedad en el país con el avance de la campaña de vacunación. Ver evolución en datos oficiales del  Ministerio de Salud Pública de Cuba.

Requisitos de entrada en Cuba, 2022

VIAJEROS INTERNACIONALES, SEAN O NO RESIDENTES: The Cuban Ministry of Tourism estableció el pasado 4 de abril de 2022 los siguientes requisitos de entrada para todos los viajeros internacionales, sean o no residentes en Cuba:

• Se elimina la presentación de una prueba para COVID-19 (Test de antígeno o PCR-RT) realizada en el país de origen, así como el certificado de vacunación anti-COVID-19.
• Health insurance is mandatory to include COVID coverage.
• Any international traveler presenting signs and symptoms of COVID-19 or other communicable disease will be referred to a health institution designated for this purpose and a PCR-RT test will be performed. These random tests will be free of charge and if positive will be performed according to the protocols approved in the country for the clinical-epidemiological control of COVID-19.

Traveling to Cuba from Spain is a journey of approximately 10 hours. Currently there are only direct flights to Cuba from Madrid.

If you are looking for flights to Cuba from Madrid, there are some companies which offer direct flights to Havana desde Madrid son Iberia, Air Europa y Evelop.
If you are looking for direct Madrid-Santiago de Cuba flights, Cubana de Aviación was the only airline that offered them without connecting in Havana, although since August 15, IATA suspended the sale of flights from this company.

Prices were usually between 700 and 900 euros depending on the season, and if you are looking for cheap flights to Cuba, sometimes you could find deals around 500 euros, although it was not the usual thing.
If you are looking for flights to Cuba from Barcelona, There are no direct flights, so you will have to make a stopover in Madrid with one of the companies indicated above, or in Miami with American Airlines, or in Frankfurt with Condor (which also flies to Varadero and Holguín), or in Zurich with Swiss, among other companies. In Cuba there are two types of accommodation, State Hotels and Private Hotels, better known as Private Houses, which are experiencing a real boom lately.
The Hotels from the Government may have foreign capital participation, such as a Meliá Hotel, in which the correspondence of stars is not always equal to the European standard, for example, a 5-star may be a 4 or a 3 in Europe.
