The founders of Cuba Unique come from Spain and we have been traveling around the island for more than 20 years.
Our collaborators share with us their passion for traveling, for Cuba and the constant search for excellence in service.
During my professional life I have specialized in marketing and sales, communication, business development and strategic planning, as well as event planning. Graduated in Business Law in Madrid, I completed my MBA training at the EOI in Madrid and later in Digital Tourism Marketing 3.0 by the IEBS School in Barcelona. My passion for traveling and for Cuba, where I got married 20 years ago, brought me closer to CubaUnique, a very particular agency where I combine the fun of planning tailored-made trips with setting strategies and searching for opportunities for the business growth.
I am a graphic designer by elimination, after passing through the corporate world, commercial, languages, or training, with an emigration to England in between, I founded www.dinarama.org, an agency that would end up being graphic and web design. Now, after running into the CubaUnique project - because it's hard not to meet Barbara and her family if you have a hint of concern for marketing and entrepreneurship - I dedicate myself to optimizing the project's image on the Internet, through its Web.
I am responsible for the travel policy advice process for the agency. Trained in marketing and commercial management at ESIC in Madrid, I was accredited by CECAS as Insurance and Reinsurance Broker and Associate Agent, currently working as an insurance consultant. As Barbara's older sister, I advise her from a total transparency and trust, with a high degree of involvement and responsibility in all the projects I carry out.
I am Cuban born and a chemical engineer. After several years working in the chemical sector, by chance I had my first approach to tourist sector, in the management side. Here I realized that public relations are my thing, and I started to link to the commercial world by the hand of a foreign firm for which I worked for 25 years. I like to start business and that is why when the self-employment arose in Cuba, I set up my small rental business, a 3-bedroom hostel in Nuevo Vedado that I currently run. Somehow I have always been organizing and running projects of different kinds, so when I met Barbara, another “crazy-like-coconut” like myself, and she told me about CubaUnique, I supported her from day 1, and I currently work as a Travel agent for her agency.
I am Cuban, philologist and professor of Caribbean Literature at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana. I also speak Spanish, English and Italian. I met Barbara at conferences about Cuban art and from that moment the crush was instantaneous. I do not work for CubaUnique, but for all those clients who want to have an experience with locals, I accompany them as a guide to show them Cuba from its historical, cultural and above all social perspective, and I really enjoy this work! I know the history of my country, I am always up to date with the events and activities of the month, the fashionable nightclubs, the live concerts, the best paladares, in short, I try to add value for those who do not want to know Cuba as a mere tourist
I am Cuban and graduate in History of Art. My love for art has developed through teaching (professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Havana for 5 years), curating exhibitions and art criticism in Cuban and foreign magazines. I obtained mention in the Guy Pérez Cisneros Art Critics Award (2016), awarded by the National Council of Plastic Arts of Cuba. I met Barbara in Havana and that's where the first city tour about design and art for Cubaunique came from. I currently have my own blog artisticulturaltheory.com and I am also editor of the blog CubaUnique, a space that allows me to combine my passion for art, writing and my country.
I am a Cuban and creative photographer, lover of art, with more than 10 years of experience in the world of photography. I have worked as an advertising photographer and in interior photography. I have participated in documentary projects of American universities and I have directed videoclips of Cuban musicians. I have worked for the Cultural Ministry of Spain in Cuba, for UNFPA and UNICEF. I have more than 15 group exhibitions and 10 solo exhibitions in Cuba, the US, England and Spain; the latter organized by Bárbara in the Perga Arte Interior Gallery. From this link we have maintained a close working relationship that today is translated into the photos of the blog and website of CubaUnique.
