Therefore, all reservations that you cancel, for any reason, will be 100% refundable with no management fees by our agency, You can also postpone the date of your trip to Cuba for free.
You pay a 10% deposit when confirming your trip.
You pay the remaining 90% 15 days before your trip.
If you cancel your trip for any reason, we will refund 100% of the amount paid, as long as you notify 15 days before your trip departure. Otherwise, € 30 per person will be charged as management fees.
If you cancel your trip at the last minute because your flight is not operating due to Covid-19 causes or because you have tested positive for Covid-19, our agency will not charge you any management fees.
From CubaUnique we will refund the money within a maximum period of one week from the cancellation date.
Hotels have their own cancellation policies and variable flexible rates.
Normally the accommodations offer flexible cancelable rates up to 24 hours before arrival. If you do not notify in time they charge the first night.
From CubaUnique we always recommend you to book with rates that admit later cancellation, or to include a cancellation cost coverage in your insurance.
The airlines require advance payment and only allow changing the flight date or refund if the ticket fare conditions allow it and as long as you give notice 24 hours before departure. The rates offered sometimes do not include this possibility.
These processes will generate expenses for the passenger in terms of penalty and airline management expenses.
The penalty charges they apply vary depending on the airline:
Cancellation fee: can reach up to € 175 with penalty and reimbursement fees.
Date change fee: It can reach up to € 128 in penalty and reimbursement fee, plus the difference in the fare of the new ticket, if any.
No penalty fees apply:
If it is the airline itself that cancels the flight. In that case, management costs of about € 10 are generated and, depending on the company, they allow reimbursement or other options such as bond issuance or date change.
If you are tested positive for Covid-19 before departing and you change the date, the airlines allow the date change without penalty, but the refund would be subject to the fare conditions of your flight, and will always have penalty expenses. All this subject to prior verification of supporting documentation.

The terms of return of the money depend on the airline. In times of pandemic we have encountered delays of more than 6 months in some refunds, especially by the AirEuropa company.
If you have purchased your flight through CubaUnique, we guarantee that we will take care of all the necessary procedures. We will refund the amount within a maximum period of one week from when the airline makes it effective to us.
Coverage of cancellation expenses, includes Covid-19: covers the capital contracted in your policy (maximum 5,000 euros), but only for a series of specific causes authorized by the insurer such as serious illness, positive test Covid-19 before the trip, official requirements, work reasons, etc., which you will have to justify.
Medical assistance coverage at destination, includes Covid-19: covers for the capital contracted in your policy due to illness and COVID-19 detected at destination.
Withdrawal Guarantee Coverage : they cover up to 90% of the cancellation costs of your trip without having to justify any type of specific cause.

Regarding your flight, the airlines allow the date change without penalty fees, but the refund would be subject to the fare conditions of your flight, and will always have penalty expenses (about € 175 with management fees included). Regarding the accommodationsIt will depend on the type of rate that we have contracted and that from CubaUnique we will have indicated to you before closing the reservation. If it is a flexible rate, we can cancel it up to 24 hours before without expenses, if not, it will depend on the hotel's policy, it is normal that they charge the first night.
If you have contracted travel insurance with cancellation costs, you will be compensated for the capital contracted in your policy.
From CubaUnique we will refund you within a week from the cancellation notice, with the exception of the amount of the flights, which will be paid within a maximum period of one week after the airline makes the refund tu us.
During the pandemic, the Cuban government has set a very effective control of COVID-19, so the impact of the coronavirus in Cuba has been very soft during the first and second waves, about 6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants (date 11/10/20)
The third wave has hit Cuba harder and, although its data are lower than those of many neighboring countries, the United States or Europe, the figures have increased to 78 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Strong > (dated 01.31.21), a figure very similar to that of Finland.

Yes, Cuba opened its airports to international tourism on November 15 and since then little by little travelers have begun to arrive on the island.
You must present the Traveler's Declaration of Health (Mod. 82-32) as a sworn statement of your state of health.
Health insurance is mandatory to include COVID coverage.
It is mandatory to present the results of a PCR-RT test for SARS-CoV-2 from a certified laboratory in your country of origin and undertaken up to 72 hours before arrival in the country.
Upon arrival in Cuba, 100% of the travelers will have a free PCR control at the airport, being obliged to 5 night lockdown in the designated hotel facilities in each territory, what has been called "institutional lockdown", with the travelers assuming the costs of stay and transfers.
On the fifth day, all travelers are required to have a second PCR, with a cost of USD 30 for the traveler.
A health fee of USD 30 per traveler has been established, which will be charged by the airline itself in the price of the flight.
Luggage per person has been limited to two pieces of 32 kg each and one piece of hand luggage of maximum 10 kg.
Tourist facilities and services, such as hotels and restaurants among others, have been prepared to receive the Most Hygienic and Safe Tourism Certification (T + HS).
In the same way, private accommodation must comply with a series of measures related to disinfection and cleaning, permanent use of masks and disinfectants, as well as having a specific health license to offer food.
These hygiene and safety measures and protocols to resume tourism activity have been carried out in accordance with the instructions issued by the World Health Organization, the World Tourism Organization and with the advice and approval of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba.

The traveler must stay for 5 nights in the hotel facilities designated by the Government.

Travelers confirmed positive are admitted to tourist facilities prepared by the Government. They are hotels-hospitals with 24-hour medical services.
