Accompanied by an independent tour guide, philologist and professor of Literature at the University of Havana, we will enter the main arteries of modern Havana, with a vintage twist: Centro Habana, Vedado and Miramar. It is a carefully designed itinerary combining walking, coco-taxi rides and vintage American car rides through its main streets and squares.
Calling at thoughtfully chosen places: from historic buildings such as Hotel Nacional or the Capitolio to Casa del Habano, panoramic terraces, art galleries and Cuban design stores, or even goldsmith's studio, not featuring in the more conventional circuits.
The tour includes lunch and a visit to the Morro Cabaña Military Historical Park, to enjoy the most spectacular views of Havana.
Parque Central, site that marks the transit of the city from the 19th to the 20th century, and where the first monument in honor of José Martí, the National Hero of Cuba, was erected.
Don't miss a passionate and exciting discussion among sports fans in the Esquina Caliente. We can take pictures of the Capitolio Nacional, the most ambitious and grandiose building of the twentieth century in Cuba, as well as the Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso, headquarters of the national ballet company, and many other majestic buildings that surround this park.
The Paseo de Martí, better known as Paseo del Prado, is one of the most eclectic boulevards on the whole island and a perfect place to see Havanans in their daily routine.
Walking, we will arrive at Malecón, donde pararemos a tomar un refrigerio en la terraza del Hotel Malecón 663 con vistas de la Bahía
From there, we will depart in an old American convertible to take a panoramic tour of the Malecon avenue, passing through the University of Havana, the Habana Libre hotel and the popular corner of Calle L y 23, FOCSA building - one of the jewels of Cuban civil architecture–, until you reach the Hotel Nacional
This is an ideal place to enjoy an aromatic coffee overlooking the sea on the terrace of one of the most classic and emblematic hotels in Havana, due to the history it collects and the personalities that have stayed there.
We will then travel in the convertible throughout the Avenida de los Presidentes to appreciate on the way the well-known "palaces of Vedado"; Symbol of a flourishing era of Cuban culture. This way we will reach the Plaza de la Revolución.
There, we will make a strategic stop to take pictures and enjoy the José Martí monument and of the old Plaza Cívica, which today hosts political power in Cuba.
Later, you will travel in the same car to the Conga, Arte & Diseño shop: In this design store you will appreciate Cuban, original and exclusive objects of design, which combine high aesthetic, functional and cultural values with a customized manufacturing.
