Dive yourself in Havana's nightlife, seductive and picturesque, with different route options for all tastes. The route will focus on El Vedado, Old Havana and Miramar areas, which host most of the city's clubs, theaters and cultural centers.
Accompanied by a local guide, expert in the Havana nightlife, you can experience the diverse cultural, musical and dance experiences that this city offers: from venues with quality live music (son, salsa, latin jazz, bolero...) to interactive shows and more classic cultural events.
It is an opportunity to know how to live the night from the most modern and music-filled part of the city.
Havana of the 50's is pleasantly remembered for the cultural movement that was lived in each of its nights. It was a city of entertainment and art. In those years, there were almost a thousand bars and clubs and about 400 cinemas, more than in Paris or New York. Among the most important sites that are still open nowadays we find the legendary Tropicana Salon, which presents an extravagant show with more than 200 dancers and singers.
Those who danced, back then, were regulars in the gardens of La Polar and La Tropical breweries. And those who preferred the most private spaces wandered along the Galician or Asturian Centers, La Estrella Sports Centers and the Candado club. Gradually, other great shows opened in places like the Parisien of the National Hotel; Montmartre, Cabaret Sans Souci, and the famous Red Room of the Hotel Capri.
In all of them, danzón, son, rumba, bolero, mambo, and chachacha were the kings of the night. Unforgettable figures such as Benny Moré, Trio Matamoros, Celia Cruz and Sonora Matancera, Olga Guillot and many others formed an extraordinarily welcoming scene.
The tour opens with the tasting of a typical Cuban cocktail in El Floridita. This is a bar with a unique atmosphere, good music, 50's style decoration, original furniture from the early twentieth century, and the best ... its excellent daiquirís! You can also discover its history, as it was known worldwide for being frequented by the American writer Ernest Hemingway.
Depending on the cultural billboard, attendance at a musical, ballet or dance event is included in the route. Among them, you can watch a concert of classical music in the Sala Auditorio San Felipe Neri, a show by a contemporary dance company in the Teatro Martí, or the staging of a ballet piece in the Gran Teatro de La Habana.
Then, we will cross to the other side of the bay, to enjoy a breathtaking view of Havana at night. Right there we can attend the cannon shot ceremony at 9 pm, in the military complex Morro-Cabaña, one of the great military fortresses of Havana where a military colonial style parade is held every night, concluding with the firing of a salvage from one of the canyons located in the Cabaña. This unique ceremony of the "cannon shot" of Havana: a tradition that recalls the closing of the gates of the wall that protected the city in times of the Spanish colony, was declared Cultural Patrimony of the Nation in Cuba.
To call it a night in style you can enjoy a live show of latin jazz in the Jazz Café. This is one of the best live music clubs in Havana and hosts excellent performances by both new and established artists. You will discover an elegant spot, with a beautiful panoramic view of the Havana Malecon. The highlight will be the presentations by top-class musicians. In addition, the guide will instruct you about the history of Cuban jazz, the great milestones and the really great moments within this genre on the island.
