Accompanied by an independent guide, photographer and professor of the School of Creative Photography of Habana, and on top of a vintage American car, you will visit the most photographic panoramic corners of the Malecon, Prado, Old Habana and Muelle de la Luz, from where you will cross by ferry to across the bay, to Casablanca and Parque Morro Cabaña, to take the best snapshots while enjoying a bucolic sunset. Do not worry about your camera, don't care about what of a professional photographer you are or not, just start walking and know how to look at this fascinating and enigmatic city. It will bewitch you!
Habana is a unique city suspended in time and impregnated with a suggestive magical realism to be seen behind the lens. A unique and extremely picturesque city due to its contrasts, colors, styles and the way the sun hits its ancient buildings, both wrecked and mansions, impossible cars, lively streets, symbols, smiles, the sea ... With this tour, you will be able to know much of its most charming and photographic corners and enjoy the best panoramic views of the city.
To start the tour we will begin with the Escuela de Fotografía Creativa de La Habana, one of the most contemporary and alternative spaces in the city. There we can interact with their teachers, students and appreciate the photographs in their gallery.
Then, we will take a convertible vintage American car that will take us on a panoramic tour along the Malecón of Habana, until its intersection with the Paseo del Prado. From this artery you can take exquisite images of the Habana maritime landscape: the lighthouse, the Paseo del Prado, as well as portraits of fishermen and other people who gather there.
Later we will take a walking tour towards Old Habana all along Paseo del Prado up to the Capitolio Nacional, Obispo Street, the historic Mercaderes Street to the Avenida del Puerto, crossing the most attractive boulevards of the city to portray their daily urban landscapes, passers-by and still lifes of fruit and food vendors, not forgetting their majestic and decadent buildings.
The last point of the tour of this-side Habana will be the Muelle de Luz, recently restored and with a beautiful view of the bay through its glass-covered metal structure and its magnificent viewpoint.
Right there in the Cervecería la Fábrica, a brewery opened on some old tobacco stores we will stop to have a craft beer and a snack enjoying a relaxing view of the sea.
Later, at the dock, we will take the Ferry de Casablanca, a usual form of transportation for Cubans. A 15-minute journey where you can take pictures of the landscape and the locals, students and workers, who return home or go to work, with their purchases, their bikes, their belongings, some silent and others in the eternal and cheerful talk of the Cuban.
We will end in the seaside town of Casablanca and after a short walk, we will access to the imposing monument of Cristo de La Habana. From this spot, you will take the best panoramic photographs of the city (those who professionally practice photography are recommended to have a wide-angle lens).
The last spot of the tour will be the military complex Morro-Cabaña, which is accessed after a short 20 minute walk. On the tour, you can see the Comandancia militar de Ernesto Che Guevara. Upon reaching the Morro, you can learn about the history of this imposing military building, buy souvenirs of local crafts and, of course, go into its enclosures until you reach the famous lighthouse that crowns the castle fort. From the top of the lighthouse you will appreciate the wonderful Habana from a unique view.
During the tour, do not miss to visit:
For lunch we suggest several variants, The Fábrica de Cerveza brewery at the Muelle de la Luz, or once you have crossed by ferry across the bay, paladar Doña Carmela or La Divina Pastora in Morro-Cabaña military park, with spectacular views of the city.
All private field trips and city tours can be modified and adapted to the client's needs.
