Accompanied by an independent guide and chef of a well-known Habana paladar, you will discover Cuban culinary art. You will walk through a local market and a cellar, as if you were a local, and you will enjoy the recipes of a cutting-edge paladar and the Creole food of an organic farm, all that without leaving Habana. You can also cook with professional chefs and taste all the flavor of their traditional food seasoned with their most recent reinterpretations, translated into an author's cuisine full of innovations.
Cuba is experiencing a real boom in its gastronomy. The creativity of Cubans also begins to be reflected in their culinary creations with varied influences of Spanish, African, Colombian, Peruvian and Asian cuisine that creatively merge with their best traditional Creole cuisine, without losing their Cuban flavor.
We begin our tour by visiting a local market, popularly known as “agros”, an exciting opportunity to live the most closest to everyday life of Cubans when buying fruits, vegetables, and sometimes, with luck, even meat, all with their own local currency.
We will also enjoy the Cuban preachers, eager to sell their products, and the day-to-day peculiarities of the regular Cuban people.
Then we will visit a bodega, where every month Cubans buy their share of subsidized food. There, you will know more about the operation of this type of establishments in the country.
Next, we will get into one of the paladers in Habana which has best known how to give modernity to traditional Cuban dishes, the Paladar La Casa, in Nuevo Vedado. Its chef will show us how tradition and avant-garde can go hand in hand and you will taste some of their specialties.
Finally, we will visit the Divino agroecological farm, where a chef will teach you how to prepare traditional Cuban dishes that you can later taste, such as ajiaco, ropa vieja, tamales, tostones, roasted pork with Creole mojo, frituras de malanga, rice "a la cubana", and so on.
