The boat ride is a spectacle, a lake where you will sail practically alone, outside the tourist circuits, with landscapes of intense greens that will leave you speechless.
In the very heart of the the mountain range of Guamuhaya(known as Sierra del Escambray), belonging to the municipality of Manicaragua in the province of Villa Clara, the Arimano, Guanayara, Negro and Jibacoa rivers join to form the Hanabanilla reservoir, an artificial lake of surprising beauty and profuse vegetation, ideal to be in direct contact with nature in a delicious cooler microclimate.
The boat will take you to the Mirador de Rio Negro, to enjoy the views of the lake and there you will stop for lunch at the Intramontano Rio Negro Restaurant.
From this point you will walk along the natural path of Los Helechos, through an old paved path of the Trinitario stream. In the last 120 m of the trail you can see beautiful waterfalls and pools, known as the Trinitario Waterfall, a great place for a refreshing swim.
The ancient arborescent ferns abound. The Tocororo, the Cartacuba, the Zorzal, the Negrito, the Cabrero and more than 15 species of Bijiritas (during migration season) are often observed. If you are interested, a local guide can accompany you along the path.
